Func Hacking

We got a decent amount of func hacking done today. I added in func-create-module to write out boilerplate modular code. Also did some code cleanup and module updates. I also got in some updates through patches submitted earlier. And I have direct access .... yay! We broke out a lot of ideas as well as hacked in a lot of good stuff. It might be ready for an upped release soon ... we will see.
By the way, func is very much not like puppet. And it is not like capistrano either ... it's not an ssh wrapper.

FUD Con Day 1 Pulp and Food @ Jan. 11, 2008, 1:32 p.m.

We worked out some scoping on pulpd. We have a decent cross section of folks interested which is fun. The food was great. It was kind of funny I started working on the xml-rpc server ... some folks said maybe we should do func instead of it's own xml-rpc server but it seems better to keep it in it's own codebase. Another idea was to pull some code from cobbler.

FUD Con Day 1 Morning @ Jan. 11, 2008, 9:18 a.m.
Seems like double the amount of people planned for. That's not a bad thing except for the lunch plans. This mornings stuff has just been planned and I'm heading over to the Pulp hackfest with Scott and John. Wireless is a problem currently. the NC State guest wireless is really, really bad but there is a temporary workaround for today with temporary accounts on the general wireless system. I'm really looking forward to the func hackfest Sunday!

waf build rpm for testing @ Dec. 25, 2007, 4:19 p.m.
I'd like some other RE's or build mongers to take a look, test and let me know how it works out. It worked fine for me on my Fedora 8 system but if anyone out there has a F7 sys or wants to rebuild it and test it for another dist give it a shot and let me know how it goes. I ran their examples without issues but ya never know :-).
